Goonies are white birds that are most prominently found in the games Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island DS, and Yoshi's New Island. They are probably based on the Wandering albatross, which is also called a "goonie" or "gooney bird". Some Goonies carry green Shy Guys, similar to how Albatosses carry Bob-ombs in Super Mario Bros. 2.
